How Whynew certifies a refurbished device

Every laptop, desktop and Mac we sell goes through the same steps before it's listed:

1. Intake: we record the serial number and check for account locks, BIOS passwords and company management profiles.
2. Diagnostics: processor, memory and storage health tests.
3. Hands-on checks: display, keyboard, touchpad, every port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera, mics and speakers.
4. Battery: capacity is measured against the original design capacity; weak batteries are flagged or replaced.
5. Repair: anything that fails is fixed or the part replaced.
6. Data wipe: storage is securely wiped before a fresh, genuine OS is installed.
7. Cleaning and grading: deep clean, then an honest cosmetic grade.
8. Final test: one last run-through before packing.

You get a GST invoice with the serial number, a 12-month warranty (6 months on Apple) and 7 days to return it if it isn't right. Full FQC criteria
