Manufacturer-refurbished vs seller-refurbished: what's the difference?
Manufacturer-refurbished means the original brand (for example Apple or Dell) refurbished the unit itself, usually with brand-new parts where needed and the brand's own warranty. It's the gold standard, but supply in India is limited and prices are higher.
Seller-refurbished means an independent refurbisher did the work. Quality ranges from excellent to poor, so the seller matters a lot.
How to judge a seller-refurbished laptop
- Is the testing process explained?
- Is the grading honest and specific?
- How long is the warranty, and who honours it?
- Is there a return window?
Most refurbished business laptops sold in India are seller-refurbished. Choose a refurbisher who is open about their process. See ours.
