What is an ex-corporate or corporate-lease laptop?
An ex-corporate laptop is one that was used by a company — often leased for a few years — and then returned when the company upgraded.
Why they make great refurbished laptops
- Business-grade models: companies buy ThinkPads, Latitudes and EliteBooks, not consumer laptops.
- Reasonable use: mostly office work, not gaming or heavy abuse.
- Maintained: IT teams usually keep them updated and in working order.
- Consistent specs: batches of the same model make parts and support easier.
What to watch for
Corporate laptops can come with management software, BIOS passwords or company accounts. A proper refurbisher removes all of that, and you should never see a company login screen on a laptop you buy.
