Lenovo ThinkPad T460p · Intel Core i5 (6th Gen) · 14" HD · 8 GB / 256 GB SSD

This Lenovo ThinkPad T460p is the kind of machine that quietly gets the job done, day after day. The 'p' models were the performance version of the ThinkPad T-series — full-power processors (with quad-core options), better cooling and room for more memory, in a body that's still manageable to carry. The T460p is the performance T460, with a thicker body and better cooling.

The Core i5 is the sweet spot for most people — quick enough for multitasking, Office, coding and online classes, without the extra cost of an i7. Sixth-generation Intel brought faster DDR4 memory support, and with an SSD this machine feels quick for everyday work and multitasking. 8 GB RAM is the right amount for study, office work and normal multitasking. The 256 GB SSD means it boots in seconds and apps open quickly. The 14-inch HD screen is fine for documents, browsing and video.

Build and everyday use

Thicker and heavier than a regular T-series (about 1.8 kg), but that bulk goes into cooling and upgradeability. Full ThinkPad keyboard with TrackPoint and physical mouse buttons. It runs Windows 10 Pro. One honest note: Microsoft ended free security updates for Windows 10 in October 2025, so this is best for offline or office-network use, or enrol it in Microsoft's paid Extended Security Updates. Ask us if you'd prefer a Windows 11 option.

Upgrades

Two RAM slots and easy access to storage — one of the most upgradeable 14-inch laptops around.
