Are refurbished laptops worth it in India?
For most people, yes — and in India the case is especially strong.
New laptops under ₹35,000 are usually consumer models built to a price. Refurbished business laptops at the same price were often ₹80,000–₹1,20,000 when new, and they were built for years of daily corporate use.
When refurbished makes the most sense
- You want the best build quality for your budget
- You need a reliable laptop for study, office work or coding
- You're buying several machines for a team or school
- You care about e-waste and sustainability
When new might be better
- You need the very latest hardware for gaming or heavy AI work
- You want the longest possible manufacturer warranty
- You need a specific brand-new model
The honest trade-offs
A refurbished laptop is a generation or three behind, the battery won't be brand new, and the warranty comes from the seller, not the brand. Buy from a seller who's upfront about all of that.
