Lenovo ThinkPad T460 · Intel Core i5 (6th Gen) · 14" HD Touch · 8 GB / 256 GB SSD

If you want ThinkPad T-series quality without paying new-laptop prices, this is the one to look at. The ThinkPad T-series is the laptop IT departments across India actually trust. Large IT companies and banks have handed it out to employees for years because it simply keeps working. The T460 is a 6th-gen ThinkPad with a slimmer body than the T450 and the same excellent keyboard.

The Core i5 is the sweet spot for most people — quick enough for multitasking, Office, coding and online classes, without the extra cost of an i7. Sixth-generation Intel brought faster DDR4 memory support, and with an SSD this machine feels quick for everyday work and multitasking. 8 GB RAM is the right amount for study, office work and normal multitasking. A 256 GB SSD keeps everything snappy — no waiting around for the hard drive. The 14-inch HD screen with touch is fine for documents, browsing and video.

Build and everyday use

Sturdy 14-inch body, roughly 1.6 kg, tested against drops, dust and temperature extremes. Arguably the best keyboard on a mainstream laptop, with the TrackPoint and physical buttons ThinkPad fans love. It runs Windows 10 Pro. One honest note: Microsoft ended free security updates for Windows 10 in October 2025, so this is best for offline or office-network use, or enrol it in Microsoft's paid Extended Security Updates. Ask us if you'd prefer a Windows 11 option.

Upgrades

Most T-series models have at least one free RAM slot and a standard M.2 SSD, so upgrading later is cheap and easy. Ask us and we'll confirm for this exact unit.
