Dell Latitude 7400 · Intel Core i7 (8th Gen) · 14" Full HD · 8 GB / 256 GB SSD

If you want Dell Latitude 7000 quality without paying new-laptop prices, this is the one to look at. The Latitude 7000 series is Dell's premium business line — what companies issued to managers and people who travel. Lighter, better-built and nicer to use than the 5000 or 3000 series. The 7400 is a 14-inch premium Latitude with narrow bezels, so it's closer in size to a 13-inch laptop.

The Core i7 gives you extra headroom for heavier work: big spreadsheets, coding with several tools open, and light photo or video editing. 8th generation was a big jump for Intel: it was the first time thin business laptops got four cores instead of two. In practice that means noticeably smoother multitasking than older models — this is the generation we most often recommend. With 8 GB of memory, switching between Chrome, Word and Zoom stays smooth. The 256 GB SSD means it boots in seconds and apps open quickly. The 14-inch Full HD screen gives you sharp text and room for two windows side by side.
