The Apple M1 chip is still quicker than most new Windows laptops you'll find at this price. It's especially good at the everyday stuff — browsing, Office, Zoom, light photo and video editing — and it does it while staying cool and quiet. 8 GB of RAM is comfortable for everyday multitasking — browser, Office, music and a video call. Storage is a 256 GB SSD, so start-up and file loading are fast. The 24-inch Retina display is sharp and colour-accurate, which makes text crisp and photos look great.
