A new category between mutual funds and PMS
Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs) are a SEBI-regulated category that lets fund houses run more flexible strategies — such as limited short positions and concentrated or thematic portfolios — than traditional mutual funds allow.
Who are they for?
SIFs require a minimum investment of ₹10 lakh across strategies at the investor level and suit experienced investors with larger portfolios who understand the added risks.
Important risks
- Strategies can be more volatile and complex than regular mutual funds.
- Some strategies may have limited liquidity (e.g. interval redemption).
- Track records are new, as the category is recent.
Our advisors will help you decide whether, and how much of, a SIF belongs in your portfolio.
