How to make Upma

Roast the rava
Dry-roast rava on low until fragrant, without colouring. Set aside.

Temper
Heat ghee, fry mustard, dals, curry leaves, chillies and ginger. Add onion and vegetables.

Boil water
Pour in hot water with salt and bring to a rolling boil.

Add rava
Stream in rava while stirring. Cover and cook on low 3 minutes. Finish with lemon and ghee.
