About ToolPilot & How We Review Software
ToolPilot helps small business owners, freelancers, startups and marketers do two things: get everyday jobs done with free tools, and choose software with confidence.
What we publish
- Free tools — calculators and generators that run entirely in your browser. We do not receive what you type or upload.
- Software comparisons — shortlists organised by job, explaining who each product suits, whether a free plan exists, and the trade-offs.
- Local pages — pages for countries, states, cities and areas that preset local currency and tax information and show software available there.
- Guides — practical, plain-English explanations.
How we review
- We describe products by fit ("best for…") rather than awarding a single winner, because the right choice depends on how you work.
- We do not publish invented prices or star ratings. Prices change often, so we link to each provider's current pricing.
- Tax rates shown are standard national rates for convenience and may change. Always verify with your tax authority or adviser.
- We update pages when products change significantly.
How we make money
Some outbound links are affiliate links, and some pages show advertising. These never change our descriptions. Sponsored placements, if any, are clearly labelled "Sponsored". See our affiliate disclosure.
Location data
Country, state and city lists come from the open countries-states-cities-database (Open Database License). Neighbourhood and locality names come from GeoNames postal data (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0). Both are used with thanks.
What we don't do
We do not sell software, take payments or collect personal information through this site.
