We started as a two-person design desk in 2014. Twelve years on, we still keep design and construction under the same roof — because the two rarely go well when they're separate.
Popular Interiors was founded by a civil engineer and an interior designer who kept meeting on opposite sides of the same disputes: a beautiful drawing the site crew couldn't build, or a solid structure with no design intent behind it.
So we built a company where the two functions report to the same project manager. The person who draws your kitchen is in the same weekly meeting as the person who tiles it — which is why our punch lists are short and our revisions are rare.
Today that same principle runs through a 72-person team covering design, civil work, carpentry, electrical and site supervision across Bengaluru.
Every project gets a single itemised estimate up front. Scope changes are priced and approved in writing before work continues.
Design, carpentry, electrical and civil teams are our own staff, not a shifting list of subcontractors.
A short written update and photos go to the client every week the site is active, whether there's a milestone or not.
Occupied-home renovations are phased room by room, so you're never without a working kitchen or bathroom.
A written 5-year workmanship warranty is issued at handover, not offered verbally and forgotten.
